Interview of Amandine from the Instagram account the_house_maraju . A decoration enthusiast who fell in love with Ripaton products! She gave us a little of her time: Discover her world, her advice and a little bit of her history!
Can you introduce yourself in a few words?
My name is Amandine, I am 33 years old and I live in Brittany near Rennes but I am from Aix en Provence. I am a real passionate about interior decoration and DIY.
More than 23k followers on Instagram follow you for your decoration shares! Can you tell us how it started and how you are handling it today?
I embarked on the Instagram adventure a little over a year ago when we moved into our home. I first wanted to find decoration and layout ideas and then to share my decorating ideas, my DIYs as well as the transformations we were doing in the house. I baptized our house "MARAJU" because these are the first syllables of the first name of my 3 children (Manon, Raphaël and Justine).
In the space of 18 months my Instagram account has grown to a scale that I never imagined! Managing it takes time on a daily basis, a lot of time! But it's a real pleasure because I do it out of passion. Every day I receive many messages and comments: requests for advice, congratulations and other questions that reinforce my idea of wanting to develop this page even more and to make decoration my job. I am fortunate to be able to collaborate with different brands who trust me in the promotion of their products and this is a real source of satisfaction.
Where do you find your inspirations?
I find a lot of ideas on the internet thanks to Instagram and also Pinterest but I am also inspired by many decoration shops that I particularly like such as Alinéa, Muy Mucho, Casa or Maisons du Monde for example.
What do you like about our products and our brand?
I discovered Ripaton thanks to Instagram and I directly appreciated the style of the brand. I am a handyman at heart, and being able to create a piece of furniture yourself using unique feet immediately appealed to me. I really like the "workshop" touch of Ripaton products as well as their side. unique.
How would you qualify your decoration?
A touch of the Mediterranean in a Scandinavian decor, that's how I would define the decoration that I like. I like light and uncluttered spaces that are highlighted by antique or natural-style objects. The logo of my page is also an olive branch, symbol of my native Provence which I miss so much.
Your favorite room in your home and why?
The room that I prefer at home is the living room because in addition to being totally decorated to my taste, it is a space where we meet as a family to spend moments of relaxation and also because it is the place where you have an overview of the rest of the house.
It is sometimes difficult to find your style in decoration and to associate the elements between them: any advice, tips to give us?
We often tend to believe that for a decoration to be harmonious, you have to choose a style and stick to it. I think on the contrary that it is the fact of mixing several styles of decoration which makes unique the character of an interior. For example, I do not hesitate to associate the Scandinavian style with clear and minimalist lines with the Mediterranean style by finding old objects (such as Dames-Jeannes or antique furniture for example) which will sublimate the whole.
La dinner table perfect according to you?
Mine ! (Laughs!)
More seriously, the ideal dining table for me has a raw wood top, either an assembly of several planks or a full top and of course steel feet from Ripaton!
Le clothes rack : what do you think of the concept of the open wardrobe?
To be completely honest, at first I wasn't too keen on the concept of the open walk-in closet. I like the rooms of the house to be tidy and I have always had this idea according to which an open dressing room would always end up causing disorder ... But after receiving Ripaton's “Ordonné” wearing, I could see that hanging a few clothes directly visible in a room could give it an extra "cozy" touch.
What do you like best about interior design?
For me interior decoration is a revealer of personality: tell me how you decorate, I'll tell you who you are !
That's what I love: bringing my touch to decoration, expressing who I am and thriving by embellishing living spaces.
Do not hesitate to go follow her in her beautiful decorative adventures: the maraju house ! We will soon offer you a new universe to discover in ripatonchezvous.
