After the success of our DIY furniture with Simply a Box boxes, we thought it would be a shame to stop there! So, we decided to teach you how to create your own shelf, always with these great wooden boxes, all in just 5 minutes (watch in your pocket!) 😉
The preparation
You can find a list of what you will need to make this (super) simple DIY shelf:
- Wooden crates (as a reminder, ours come from Simply a Box)
- The shelf brackets Fabulous
- Nails & his hammer
- A drill and his pegs
- 15mm wood screws
Of course, you can give your creation any shape you want. Below, some examples of possible compositions with the boxes 😉
Mounting
Let's go for an express assembly!
When you have chosen the layout of your boxes and after making sure that the whole is stable, nail them together by driving the nails into the cleats. Thus, the nails will not protrude and the whole will be fixed securely!
Then, prepare your bindings for your shelf supports! Check that the locations of your fasteners are properly aligned, then fix your ankles * in the wall and install your Fabulous !

Once you have installed the last ones, all you have to do is put your crates on them! Fix them to your shelf supports thanks to the fixing holes in the plates… And voila!
So here is a functional, solid and unique shelf!
